Blog Post for October 17, 2017

The decision that you are grappling with at this very moment carries with it the implications to impact substantially more people than you may ever realize.

The birth of a single child saved the whole world.

A single idea became the invention that would provide light to the entire universe.

A single desire for justice changed the future and the laws of a nation.

Every time you think that what you're doing affects no one but you, consider this recent experience that my husband and I shared.

During a flight not very long ago, we were told that our flight would be delayed because of an ill flight attendant. At the time of the announcement, no one was able to tell us how long to expect to be delayed because it was dependent upon another flight attendant leaving the hotel and arriving at the airport.

Several passengers began to get concerned...not for the ill attendant...not for the attendant whose sleep was interrupted at 5am to come to work; but because many of us had connecting flights on the other end that we now stood at risk of not arriving in time to make.

The timing of one decision made by one employee affected hundreds of people that she would never meet.

Maybe you think that your job doesn't carry the same level of impact as these flight attendants.

But I assure you, the timing and the synchronization of your decision to be obedient to God's will can absolutely affect the divine atmosphere in which you are operating.

Therefore, our prayer this week should be a prayer that I've heard Dr. Cindy Trimm pray often, "Lord teach me to know and to move according to heaven's timing."

As we are making decisions today and this week, let's ask God to not only allow us to know our purpose but to move in His timing.

Consider these words that the Lord spoke to the prophet Jeremiah. Jeremiah 1:10 "See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant."

Therefore, if the Lord has placed you over nations and kingdoms and you are still thinking that everything you do and every decision you make is only about you, then you will never fully understand the magnitude of God's kingdom purpose for your life.

If you are not discerning in every decision that you make, you have the potential to change the trajectory of every person whose life you were assigned to impact today.

The next time someone reminds you that this isn't just about you; remember that it's not just a cliché, it's a statement of divine wisdom - take heed and consider the impact.
